Lanterns Restaurant: Discover Plymouth's Hidden Culinary Gem

We had liver and onions with chips, would have preferred mash to soak up the delicious gravy, but they didn't do it. Forgot to take a picture.

3rd visit to Lanterns and still love it! The food is delicious, the staff are super friendly and the whole place is really clean. The red wine syrup on the belly pork dish could be the yummiest sauce ive ever tasted. Looking forward to visit no4!

We booked last minute as it was close to our hotel. We were so pleased! Lovely atmosphere, amazingly hard working and lovely staff. The food was incredible. It was lovely to see all the chefs cooking in the open kitchen. We will definitely be going back next time we are in Plymouth. Would highly recommend

Service: The staff were plentiful, friendly and attentive. Food: The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Everyone in our group finished everything presented and we left happy and very full. The steaks were well cooked, juicy and delicious. We will be more than happy to return in the future!

Just discovered! I have been working in Plymouth periodically for a number, actually quite a few, years and although the restaurant has been around, and run by the family, since 1977 (?), our paths have not crossed! My misfortune!! Located, how should I say, not in the most salubrious part of town, this Greek 'family diner' gives a warm welcome. A full Greek Cypriot menu serving up generous portions of delicious food. Loved it! Certainly recommended by me and look forward to coming back again.

always tasty, good service, reasonable price, .., mushrooms in sauce as a starter are delicious ,) been there many times, and will do again ;)

I’ve been meaning to visit lanterns for a while now, so finally went with a friend when we were both craving a steak! The restaurant was very busy for a weekday lunchtime (always a good sign!) but we were able to get a table after a short wait. Food was excellent - steak cooked perfectly, chips crispy and flavoursome. Dessert was also incredible; light and balanced. Service was fabulous; both girls that served us were friendly and helpful - thank you ladies! Highly recommend Lanterns and I’ll definitely be back

Our first visit was completely spontaneous — we walked in on a whim and, despite it being busy, we were lucky enough to get a table. From the moment we arrived, the lovely waitress made us feel so welcome with her friendly and attentive service. The dinner menu had a great range of options, and the food was absolutely amazing — fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Portions were generous too, which was a lovely surprise. A fantastic evening from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back again soon!
